Art Dubai

The most important dates in the diaries of the region's culture fans centre around Art Dubai. This year the emphasis is on innovation, with digital art and NFTs sharing space with new installations and curatorial showcases. The exhibition shines a light on contemporary and modern creations from around the world. Its fifteenth season is set to officially return to Madinat Jumeirah with over 100 exhibitors from 44 countries, including more than 30 first-time participants providing inspiration to buyers and browsers.

Alserkal Art Week

Alserkal Art Week returns this March, for 11 days of unique exhibitions and pop-up events. Alserkal Avenue's many galleries and spaces will be opening up their doors to welcome the city's art fans to take a look at their newest displays. There will also be talks by experts, workshops and film screenings. Make sure you also mark your calendar for Alserkal Lates which returns to the industrial hotspot on 8 March with its array of galleries, cafes and ateliers staying open late into the evening.

The World of Banksy

Discover art by the mysterious Banksy, as an exhibition of his pieces is here in Dubai for the first time ever. The creative mastermind behind some of the world's most renowned satirical graffiti artworks has kept his identity a secret for years, and art lovers can see more than 120 unique works of his on display at Mall of the Emirates. The exhibition has toured the world, stopping off in cities such as Paris, Barcelona and Brussels and this is its Dubai debut.

Sikka Art & Design Fesival

Dubai Culture's flagship initiative, SIKKA Art Festival is celebrating 10 years of remarkable creativity and inspiration. Artists, local and international alike, will decorate Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood with works that speak to the future and orchestrate a visionary experience. Its location, amid the atmospheric alleyways alongside the Dubai Creek, add to the charm of this celebration.

Queen of Colour at ME Dubai

Explore the pops of colour that are a trademark of celebrity favourite Nat Bowen, at her first solo showcase in Dubai. As part of ME Dubai's latest Artist in Residency, the hotel's atrium will display several technicolour pieces by Bowen, made using rare and precious pigments and materials, including crushed diamonds. Bowen has even reimagined McLaren's Artura supercar which takes pride of place in the hotel lobby.

Movement by Antonio Signorini

Art fans can make their way to Bluewater Island's Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery for Antonio Signorini’s latest exhibition of three-dimensional sculptures. Browse through a display of experimental new pieces by the Italian, who is making his Dubai debut. His work is created using white patina — a mixture of ceramic paint and marble powder over bronze. Expect to see The Dancers, The Warriors and Flying Horses which seem to gallop through air.

Shard Song at Efie Gallery
West African art is in the spotlight at this specialist gallery that launches with an exhibition of work by El Anatsui curated by Mae-Ling Lokko and creatively directed by Aida Muluneh. The space, in Al Quoz's Al Khayat Art Avenue, will have a selection of the Ghana-native's signature metal sculptures, made with bottle caps, tin cans and other metals connected by copper wire.

Mike Arnold's Odyssey

Head off on an Odyssey with Dubai-based artist Mike Arnold as his latest show at Mesteria Gallery explores his experiences in the country. Done in his distinctive impressionist style, Arnold chases the light and energy of the UAE, using the occasional gold flourish to accentuate. From his studio in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, he's created this latest body of work that is sure to impress patriots and collectors alike.

DIFC Sculpture Park

Art World Creation Dubai takes over the DIFC Sculpture Park, dotting its trademark installations all across the area. Wander around gardens and enclaves taking in eye-catching Turkish art including a tower of rabbits, deer and a Rainbow Baby by names like Ayla Turan, Kemal Tufan and Karim Karakaya.
